HP Performance Testimonials

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIALS

"The Twin Turbo kit is nothing short of stunning.  The quality of the parts used is second to none.  I have not stopped being impressed with the way my car performs.  It took my car from being a fast car to another level entirely.  The most impressive aspect of the kit is that you can drive the car around like it is a stocker. The power only comes on when you put your foot in it.  I drove the car three hours back to El Paso, TX with no problems at all.  In fact, I only used a ½ tank of gas for a three hour trip, which is amazing.  I was using nitrous for over a year and I thought I knew what fun was until I drove my car with turbos on it and there are no more trips to fill up the bottles.  I am only running 7 lbs of boost and my car is way faster than it was when I was running nitrous on it.  The torque that the car produces now is amazing it will pin you back in your seat and pull hard until you have to shift.   I love the funny looks I get from people when they hear the blow off valve and realize that it came from a Mustang.  This car wasn't my daily driver but I think that it will be now, the car is just that fun to drive.  I want to thank Jimmy and Nathan for the professional job they did with taking care of me and my car.  They always took my calls and didn't get off of the phone until I was comfortable.   I had some clutch problems when I brought my car in for installation and not only did they take the time to find the problem they fixed it also.  They consistently when above and beyond what was expected of them. To anyone considering a supercharger or nitrous you need to take a hard look at this kit for your car.  Don't spend a ton of money on another power adder and end up disappointed with it like I have done in the past.  There is no disappointment with the Twin Turbo Kit unless you don't like to go fast!"

"This essentially stock-looking silver GT rolls up alongside most of its prey just like this.  A quick stab of the throttle results in a wild acoustical orgy as two turbos spool up and deplete oxygen levels nearby.  Before you even hear a blowoff valve as Ross Carter shifts into high gear, you're staring at the back end of this Mustang.  That's why we love turbocharged street Stangs.  Nothing like 'em."

Vinnie the Hit Man, MM&FF, "Big Twins", August 2006.

"I have just finished up on my 2003 HP Twin Turbo Cobra. When I was looking for info, I surfed here and got some good ideas; now its time for me to share them with others that might want to build one of these....here it goes.....on the 1st tune with boost controller issues, stock throttle body and a torn intercooler hose, she put down 700 rwhp.....going back for a good tune with a bigger throttle body and 67mm turbo's in 3 weeks with all the issues worked out. Should be close to 800 rwhp on pump gas and close to 1000 rwhp on 116....."

"I'll get some dyno numbers for you.....So far, I've dyno'd at 8psi and 12psi.  8psi numbers are 494/494 and the 12psi numbers were 560/570.  The 12psi numbers are not accurate due to traction on the dyno.  I had 4.30 gears at the time and it'd just spin as soon as the boost hit.  I did manage 560rwhp before the tires started smoking.  We tried 4 straps in the back and 2 people in the trunk but it was just too violent of a hit for the nitto 315/35 drag radials to hold onto.  LOL"

"We just finished a long day of tuning a HP twin turbo charged 2 valve Mustang. We are out of fuel and this kit/car has a lot left in it.  C&C Tuning from Quebec, Canada brought the car here for us to tune.  Jimmy from HP turbo is present.  Car just laid down 719.38 rwhp and 651TQ with 20psi and only 16 degrees of timing.

Congrats HP Turbo........

The cool thing is the car has simple heads only flowing 225 cfm.  Riechard racing intake to top it off.

They are going to install a larger pump, our heads and bring it back.  I really think we can go 800rwhp no problem.

Congrats to all involved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The car was tuned using SCT software........

Full boost quickly.  They spool up fast.  It is soooooooooooooo cool sounding on the dyno."

Tim Barth. T&J Performance

"Run at 11 psi, the turbo kit pumped out 750 hp and 679 lb-ft of torque, bettering all three of the superchargers  [Vortech, Kenne Bell and Eaton]....once the tach needle swung past 3,600 rpm, it was all turbo.  How does an extra 178 hp and 154 lb-ft. or torque sound?  While the turbos were down by as much as 100 lb-ft at 2,500 rpm, they quickly made up for lost time by eclipsing the Eaton and producing the most impressive post-4,000 rpm power curves of the bunch."

Richard Holdener - MM&FF, December 2004

"We just finished dynoing my HP twin turbo 03 cobra, i could not believe with a stock 01 intake, stock 01 throttlebody, 95mm maf, 2.5" exhaust, STOCK HEADS, CAMS, and INTERNALS, Pretty much a stock motor, w/ HP Twin Turbo kit. She made 818rwhp-893rwtq @ only 5000 rpm because it started to go lean, so we bailed out. Focus pumps were maxed out. Also the car was on stock timing. Another amazing thing is that it idles like a stock cobra and it is so quiet under idle too you wouldn't even know it was runnin..... 'SLEEPER'!!!"

"Lurking below the 301-inch modular in an HP Performance twin turbo kit with 57mm turbos.  Shoving 15 pounds of boost into the Bullitt intake manifold and Patriot Performance heads generates 602 rwhp and 615 rwtq.  Next up will be 22 pounds of boost, and, unlike his supercharged friends, all Ross has to do is turn up the boost control knob to dial in an estimated 800 rwhp."

Vinnie the Hit Man, MM&FF, "Big Twins", August 2006.

"About a month ago I sent an email telling about my ex 4cyl car that I turned into a 331 stroker with a hp 60mm turbo I also sent a video, that is now on you web site, and looks good.  At that time I also gave you some dyno number that were something like 472 hp @ 14psi, and 592 ft-lbs.  Well, after I got the car tune I had some very bad street issues with the car [not related to the turbo kit].  Last night I got them taken car of and the new dyno numbers are much better.....494hp @ 9 psi and 606 ft-lbs and I never took the car past 5300 rpms (shift light was set wrong).  After a little more turning we turned the boost up to 15 psi and the car made 513hp and 606 ft-lbs as soon as the gas was put down....."

"I just got back from the dyno and made 545rwhp and 614rwtq at 13psi.  This cars pulls like an animal!  I took my friend for a drive in the car after the dyno; he was going crazy that the car pulled like the way it did when the boost kicked in, he has a S-trim on his car and doesn't even compare.  Great job on the kit !!  Thanks.

"Hello Jimmy, Nathan, and Tom!  I just wanted to tell you guys that my 2000 Stang is still going strong.  I have driven it almost 10,000 miles since you guys put on the turbos.  That was February of 2004.  What a great set-up!  No leaks, nothing broken, zero problems.  Oh yeah, it runs plenty strong.  Best 1/4 mile so far in Amarillo was a 12.65@ 111 mph. The car would be in the 11s if my 60ft. times were better.  This is on 8 lbs. of boost, with pump gas.  Still get 20+ mpg and cool a/c too. What more could I ask for?  I love it!  Thanks guys for a job well done."

Ron Cunningham
Dumas, TX

"Thanks to HP for putting together a  kit that looks and works great.  We have always wanted a turbo'd Mustang and now with the HP kit on our car so does everyone else!  No kidding.  As soon as you guys get that 76mm to us we will be surprising everyone again with our little grocery getter....."

The HP Twinturbo kit added an incredible amount of power to the Saleen.  If, like me, you always thought the only difference between "exhileration" and "acceleration" was the spelling, then this is the product for you.

It's hard to think of the Saleen as a stealth vehicle but the twin turbos were completely unobtrusive until I opened either the hood or the throttle.  I covered the 1,350 mile trip in about a day and a half and averaged over 20 MPG in spite of constant toying with virtually every 'Vette, Porsche, etc. I encountered.  The kit is simply terrific.  Jimmy and Nathan are wizards at this, not to mention being two of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet.  Tom, who had to listen to my impatient whining on more than one occasion, orchestrated the effort flawlessly.  Overall, these guys pegged the needle on the "fun per dollar' gauge.

Anyone looking for a great turbo product from a great outfit need look no further.  My advice?...Stop pouring money into that IRA.  Stop wasting your hard-earned dollars on house payments.  Defer that critical operation.  Put your money where it counts...POWER UP with HP!!

"I had a Kenne Bell Blowzilla pushing 12 pounds of boost before I ordered a kit from HP.  There is no comparison; the HP turbo kit blew the Kenne Bell away and the turbo kit cost me less money to purchase than the Kenne Bell. For anyone looking to go fast, sound and look good at the same time, look no further than HP. I am a believer, I will never own another belt driven power adder.

The Kit came complete; the only thing that I needed to purchase was vacuum line and oil to put in the motor. This kit took me a total of about 15 hours to install. Jimmy and Nathan were very helpful with any technical problems that I incurred.  I highly recommend HP performance; it was definitely worth the wait!!

The car makes unbelievable power. When the turbo spools up in 3rd gear, it will burn the tires off and that is with 3.55 gears. I will be dynoing the car 6/7/2004 and will be taking it to the track shortly there after. Hold on..... numbers are coming."

UPDATED COMMENTS:

"I took my car to Randy Haywood in Charlotte NC to get my car dyno tuned. We got the car on the dyno and made the first pull. He shut down the car @ 4700 RPM's because it ran out of fuel with the 42# injectors.

Made 565 hp and 632 pounds of TQ!!!!

This blew my mind, This is with pump gas and showing 10 pounds of boost!!! I need 60 pound injectors and a fuel system to get the full potential of the engine.

Randy said, "if we would of had sufficient fuel, you would have made about 650hp and 700 foot pounds of torque". I will give you the real numbers when i install a different fuel system. I might want to start saving for a new block!!!

Thanks,

"I just put on brand new Hoosier QTP 28/11.50 and took the car out on Sat 6/20/04. I ran in a class with the NPSA. (Pro street or 10.50 class). Here are my three runs with the new tires, I believe I might be blowing the stock electronics out because just at the traps it would sputter @ 6k. Gap was a little big @ .035 too. Sat was extremly hot I mean 90 deg compared to my first run which was around high 60's. (1) 10:06am 60'1.631, 330' 4.547, 1/8 6.972@100.77, 1000' 9.089, 1/4 10.855@126.67 (2) 11:32am 60' 1.575, 330' 4.461, 1/8 6.887@98.58, 1000' 8.988, 1/4 10.74@130.26 (3) The best for last! all runs were in "D" but I do have a micro switch on my brake pedal with an adjustable chip to build boost of the line. 1:22pm 60' 1.533, 330'4.363, 1/8 6.751@99.98, 1000' 8.822, 1/4 10.567@131.75 Runs 2 and three had one turn on the knob but I saw only 11psi. I need to slow this thing down for my wife.  Again, I am very pleased with the performance of this BASE kit. I know I could get more out of it if I started really pushing things but the kit has more than exceeded my expectations."

"It made way to much power to drive on the street.....in a 79 mustang with a 351, the motor made 361 rwhp before the turbo. with 8.5psi of boost it made 718 rwhp and 830 rwtq."

Myron Smith
Fairfield, CT

"OMG OMG OMG !!!!!!!!  WOW.... i don't have enough words to say thanks to HP turbocharged ..!!!!   I dealt with a totally new product with an amazing price (Thanks Tom), i called every freaking week (thanks Ruth), and i got all my questions answered (thanks Jimmy) !!!"

"I want to thank HP, Jimmy and Nathan in particular, for building the custom air to water intercooler that fits under the dash and can’t be seen. They have really been helpful with the installation of the system and in getting the total combination right.  Originally the kit started out as a 66mm street kit and I am currently testing an 80mm turbo for HP.

We just made 776 RWHP and 740 RWTQ (21LBS of boost , SAE).  I also had a 3" rip in the seam of my intercooler and think it will make another 4 or 5 lbs of boost when I get it fixed.  According to the fuel consumption, I think I was making about 1,000 crank shaft HP.  You should do 800 RWHP with a 5 speed and a hydraulic roller with less boost than that."

Joe Gallagher
Albuquerque, NM

"Well I finally got the car to the dyno and it put down some crazy numbers. The motor is still completely stock except for the Cometic MLS gaskets, ARP head bolts, and 1.7 roller rockers. I made 509 rwhp and 626 rwtq at 16 psi. I was running 100 octane unleaded with timing locked at 20 degrees with 38 lbs of fuel pressure. I couldn't believe it made that much power, I was expecting 425-450 at the most. Hats off to HP Performance for making such a great kit. I'm gonna run it at the track tomorrow but still have stock axles so I won't beat on it too much."

Briane Howland
Tampa, FL

"We went to Maple Grove and All Ford Carlisle over the weekend, and as usual the car created a lot of excitement. 10PSI = 511 RWHP and 622 RWTQ = slipping clutch, also 18 MPG highway.  Gotta love it."

"I thrashed on the car (along with the help of some friends) to repair/replace everything for FFW which was only a week away.  We got to Ennis just in time for a couple of test passes on Friday before they started qualifying.  Since I was scared of blowing up the drivetrain again, the day before the race, I decided to just roll the car off of idle from the line.  Doing so resulted in a pass of 10.50 @ 133.  That right there was my best MPH ever and the car was 200# heavier and in 30° hotter air than what my previous best MPH was in.  My previous best was a 6.55 @ 105 in the 1/8 and 10.32 @ 130 in the 1/4 at 3600#, in cool November air.  All of this was in 3800# street trim with small 26" ET Streets on the back of the car.  I made another pass the same way and backed it up while getting my best 1/8 mile MPH ever of 107.  The car used to run consistent 102mph in the 1/8 at 3800# and this just blew it away.  Over the event I ran into some gremlins, none of it turbo kit related.  While on another pass at the event I got brave enough to foot brake the car off of the line and got my best run ever.  6.52 @ 107 in the 1/8 and 10.18 @133 in the 1/4.  That was my best ET and MPH that the car has ever run and I did it with only 13# of boost, on pump gas, at 3800#, on 26" ET Streets!  The car is only legal to run 11.0 and I'm lucky I didn't get kicked off of the track with that ET.  Also, the only reason the car wasn't running any more boost than 13# is because I ran out of fuel pump according to my A/F ratio on Conley's dyno.  I have a new, and better, fuel pump to go in the car, but I'm saving that until I get a certified cage installed in the car making it legal to go the speeds it is going.  I also have that entire 10.18 run on video and will get it digitized and up on my web site soon.  There's EASY 9's in this heavy street car as I have yet to launch it off of the trans-brake or turn the boost up, timing up, and run some race gas!"

Ben Frazier
Houston, TX

"I haven't had a chance to get to a dyno or the track, but the car feels great rippin' around on the streets.  Before I put the turbo on, I had a 150 shot of nitrous on the car.  The turbo feels way better.  My goal is to get the car in the tens with the turbo and hope the stock bottom end will stay together."

Dave

"I just got my car dynoed after the install. The car is a 89 LX 5.0 completely stock.....with the turbo kit installed it dynoed at 443 RWHP, a 156% increase in power!!! 156%!!! Hats off to HP Performance for giving my Mustang what she needed."

Mike Partain
Colorado Springs, CO

".....I just went for the first ride with my HP kit. All I can say is Holy God, it is fast. I thought my Vortech setup was fast. This thing would run from my old setup. Driveability is better with the turbo too, other than the fact that third is now as useless as 2nd and 1st were (no traction.)  I love the sound, too."

Jason Stallwood
Jacksonville, FL

"The trick system was necessary to supply sufficient fuel for the HP Performance turbo kit.  The single turbo kit included everything necessary to add 6-15 psi or more (depending on engine size and turbo selected) to the 302.  The engine specs hardly seem wild, yet the HP Performance turbo motor had no trouble spitting out 572 rwhp.  The torque production is where turbo motors really shine,  and this Cobra was no different as Anthony's '93 Snake pumped out an earth-shattering 708 lb-ft of torque at 15 psi......Let me tell you that from behind the wheel, the turbo motor feels every bit that fast, as the tidal wave of torque feel like you just got nailed in the back by a locomotive at full steam."

10-Second Stock Block. Muscle Mustang & Fast Fords, March 2004.

"It's making so much power right now the stock clutch is slipping.  Before the clutch started slipping, when it was cold out, it would blow the tires off in 4th gear at 100 mph.  The power is unbelievable even at 10 psi.....Can you say sleeper?"

Briane Howland
Tampa, FL

"The kit is completely Jet Hot Sterling coated. I really like the quality of the kit.....The car spins the tires from a 3rd gear roll at 70mph with 275/40/17s right now. Something the nitrous could never do. I highly recommend this kit to anyone who wants to haul ass."

Brandon Hayduke

"The quality of the kit seems to be top notch.....the installation seems to be going pretty smooth. One thing I will say is how impressed I am with the help that the guys at HP have offered me. Between the 3-way conversations walking me through things, to the occasional calls I get at random just to check up on me to see how things are going for me. Two big thumbs up to you guys at HP, great product with even greater support = ... can't wait to finish the installation and take my dads modified 03 Cobra for the spanking of its lifetime!"

Aaron Berberian
Northboro, MA

"I am amazed by the amount of power it puts out at only 7lbs of boost and enjoy every second that I drive it.  Install wasn't bad and it was my first time installing a turbo kit.  I am happy with the kit and hope to get it tuned and to the track soon."

Jeremy Haymore
Winston-Salem, NC

"I just got the kit last week and i finished installing it on Sunday. Still need to finish the fuel system to start it up. I love the kit and the quality is top notch."

Brandon Hayduke
"Black Magic 94"

"FYI, the HP Performance kit is outrageous. blackminnitubbedlx just took second place in the Supernationals here in Albuquerque in a field of over 100 HIGH dollar show cars. I'm talking about 100K show cars here - not junk! The HP kit looked as good or better than anything at the show.

I do a lot of research and verify ALL the references before I give anyone my money. Needless to say I trusted HP enough that I paid for my kit in advance and they are on track with completion commitments. I was afraid to even send some of the "other guys" even a deposit. Jimmy and Nathan are not sales guys so you're not going to get a lot of BS about their kits - just honest answers and real commitments. Good luck in your hunt and give these guys a look."

"Just wanted to thank you for all your help!!!  The car is awesome and the turbo kit is the best thing about it.."

Raul Escobel
Dallas, TX

"Drove it around town today and it feels real strong...Every time I get into boost it breaks loose.....3.55's and dyno tune on the way.  It runs good and I am seeing 7lbs of boost. It seems to be fully spooled by 3000 RPM. I have 4.10 gears in it right now and it revs up so fast it seems like I hit 6000 RPM before i can blink. I am getting the 3.55's put in soon. It makes more power at 7lbs of boost than my Vortech did at 12lbs."

Jeremy Haymore
Winston-Salem, NC

"I would like to let everyone know that if you are looking to buy a turbo kit, you need to check on www.turbochargedpower.com and check out what they have to offer.  I just got my kit installed and everything fit as it was supposed to and I am very glad I purchase it from them.  The guys that run this company are really good guys, the turbo kits are very reasonable priced and the kits are put together well."

"I helped install one of your kits on my brothers car and I really like the setup, you guys did a great job of putting that kit together, everything fell right into place."

"I received my HP kit today and have looked everything over very carefully.  The quality is first-class; I can't wait to get it installed and tuned."

Jason Stallwood

"Well I received the rest of the kit yesterday and I must say that I have no questions now about the quality of HP Performance Turbo Kits! The quality is outstanding, all pieces to be machined with the utmost attention to detail."
